Trump escalates threats against press, calls news coverage ‘frankly disgusting’

wapo:
President Trump on Wednesday lashed out over a critical news report and escalated his previous attacks on the media by suggesting that news organizations he disagrees with be shut down, alarming free-speech advocates who compared the tactics to intimidation efforts by the Nixon administration.

The president’s outbursts, which marred an Oval Office meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, came in reaction to an NBC News report that he had pushed senior aides in July for a major expansion of the U.S. nuclear arsenal. The president’s request reportedly prompted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to refer to Trump as a “moron” after the meeting at the Pentagon.

We have a local city commissioner (his initials are Todd Neville) who wasted our half-wit city attorney's time trying to get the City of St Augustine to sue Historic City News purely because we reported, accurately, money that had been paid to his political campaign from principals in the PUD application of David Corneal -- which was before him for a vote.

We name the contributors and the amounts of their campaign donations but he didn't like it. He was told in short order that the City would not pay for his political battles. He was free to hire (and pay for) his own attorney, if he liked -- but, he was on his own if he wanted to sue us to stop us from publishing unflattering news. He declined. Even the St Augustine Record wrote an editorial that supported our reporting saying why it would be bad for government to interfere with our constitutionally protected freedom of the press.

Trump has picked a fight with the media he can not win... But I would point out the current media is the most biased media I have ever seen, read or watched.
