welcome back martymoo...
jeez, it's great to hear from you.

word round the corner barbershop is that i've gone over to the dark side...
which is not to say that i'm no longer a conservative...(still believe in a strong national defense, fiscal responsibility, and strict construction)...but i have diagnosed myself with a bad case of TDS, with no relief in sight.
but it's a malady in which i revel.

and you too, coebul...welcome back.

I like the boards editing features. Being able to cut and past the specific comment or part of a comment you are responding to. I also like parts of FaceBook. I am thinking of putting a link of Facebook for Plazabum.
I'm trying to figure out how to do things.
Some topics have a yellow circle and/or dot on the left margin — and I can access.
Others have a black circle, and I can't access.

I need a tutorial — HELP!

Especially how to use italics and boldface for emphasis.

Thanks Mike - "been there, done that"!. My deficiencies are even more basic, because I've never owned a computer, and don't know the kindergarten stuff (jargon,, techniques, etc.).

I'm finding my way, and have been helped by other members privately.

I hadn't know Bob Honiker passed away. :( I wonder how his grandson is doing? Last I knew he had enlisted. We didn't agree on much, but I was very fond of the cantankerous Hardware Bob.

Plazabum, It was Shake 'n' Bake. "Momma made Shake 'n' Bake and I he'pped!"

AMM! Woo-hoo!!! How the heck are you? All's well. Carl retires tomorrow (9/29), so we are on the precipice of a new chapter.

Andrew is still around, but yep, not on the Harris blog.

Are y'all thinking of inviting current city commission members?

Mike, totally agree about needing more freedom to express NON-Facebook-like stuff. FB is stultifying. So happy PB is back!

The original plazabum was the kid whose parents own the hotel on the bayfront ...
That would be Tom Mark Kaczmarczyk. His parents sold the Marion for +$4 million and in April, Kaczmarczyk finally got married.

I remember the gnashing of teeth at some of his posts back at ToTT and Free Speech I, and recall his nic being repossessed after he pissed Chuck off with some of his BS  You guys branded him "scarface" for a few weeks, then he jumped back in, railing against the REAL plazabum, until Chuck swapped his avatar to Pee Wee Herman! Kaczmarczyk was furious.

Can you imagine what the discussion around a dinner table with him and his new bride has to sound like?

I'd rather not. That guy could piss off the Pope. Poor girl ... He did marry a girl, didn't he?

if he's who i think he is...
he was tossed off the board several times and re-registered again and again.
the last time...dunrobin, big mac and i made short work of him...(45 minutes) and we never heard from him again.

and if memory serves, in one incarnation, he stole several of my posts and reposted them on TOTT...without attrribution...

i believe mac had the final word on old scarface:
"7 posts...and every one a gem."

I wish I could remember the single-word nic used by someone, I never knew who, that I used to actually look forward to reading. They never started new topics, but they would weigh in on some of the most controversial, with excellent responses. They probably had legal training -- may have been an attorney or judge. It was (something)us, and I want to say "gerardus". Always kept their cool. That's rare these days.
